"POISE Magazine" by celeste m.

Welcome the first addition of "POISE Magazine". A lifestyle magazine based on making design accessible. Specializing in easy elegance...
The cover
There was some Raulph Lauren inspiration to adding the plaid background... Mixing the feminine photo with the masculine backdrop always works for me.

A peek of the inside...

We have a brand new look!

So excited to show off our still-in-the-works, new look, blog!
We have been working very hard to get this all up and running. We have had our whole IT/design team helping us... See below:)

Blurry picture because he didn't know how to act...

One minute he was helping me by taking notes...

...the next his male-cat-ness was being threatened by a fabulous pearl necklace.
He was trying so hard not to show that it made him feel fabulous... This is his, I'm trying to act ashamed, but it feels so good look! He hasn't come totally out of the cat closet yet... But we all know:)
We have been so inspired these days that we so wish there were more hours of sunlight for our productivity!

So many beautiful wardrobe pieces at J.Crew that we could eat them with a spoon not to mention they are all the perfect compliment to our new Spring 2014 celeste m. jewelry collection at www.celestem.com

We can't get enough of the yummy flannels and jeans with red accents! A perfect, preppy complement with our celeste m. pearl collection.

Earlier this week we were so happy to ditch our boots and our hunting socks for our favorite converse sneakers... What a tease! Now we can not wait to add to our sneaker collection and also show you a super fun craft idea when we take our sneaks and glitter our worn out converse to perfection! Stay tuned!

Now if we can just get these out of the closet and not freeze our tootsies off! Spring is going to come... Eventually! Until then...
Indulge in your favorite hot coffee, make a giant fire, and wallow in that stuck inside day! Get your crafty on and celebrate the day!
Soon enough you will be glowing in the heat and sun dreaming of jumping into a cool lake!
Live in the moment!
All my best!

Drift wood home decor

Just another day at the beach...

A rough, windy, but beautiful morning on the lake with the skyline in the distance.

So I have had this stick ... Not just any old stick, but one that broke off a tree at some point and found it way into our glorious lake, I'm pretty sure it has a story to tell about the journey it took to end up on the beach all worn and bleached. I found it on a walk with my boys. I have had it propped up in a corner for years, always knowing it was meant for greatness. Well, today was that day. After bobbing along in the lake until it was smooth and worn, then sitting in a corner for years, then hanging on my wall waiting to be turned into something good, it has become a wonderful piece of art. I love that because the stick is not straight the pictures hang a bit off, I find there is perfection in the imperfect:) I hope you are inspired to make a little something with things you find and they make you happier! This does it for me!

Enjoy this glorious day!

celeste m. designs 2010 Harlow Collection

Inspired by the Blonde Bombshell Jean Harlow celeste m. designs brings you "The Harlow Collection"

Beautiful and full of movie star like sparkle and Hollywood glamour...

Hard at work in studio today...and looking forward to the kiddos going back to school. As much as I love having them home...
It has been our busiest year yet for CMD and that I am eternally thankful for that! The doors to the studio have been spinning since thanksgiving...love that I am doing what I dream of and plan on doing it so much better this year. So thankful for all of my clients, family and friends who offer endless support, encouragement and inspiration.
Working on doing a better job of the business end since I am hyper/creative and looking forward to putting together a team of great people to take on this joy ride. Many more ideas for the new website. Music is such a main component to my design work so I will be looking at adding a music page to my site and using this to post my favorite artist. Such respect for musicians...yes even John Mayer. There is something so vulnerable and raw to putting yourself out there. Something you wrote like music or made with your hands...to be judged by everyone.
Most of all looking forward to a New Year and making some great changes...
"the most important thing is this: to be able to sacrifice what we are for what we could become"
Cheers to 2010 and a great year ahead:)
